Now, more than ever, the West Family, and other individuals and families in our community need and rely on the support and resources offered by the National Kidney Foundation.
Mike West, as honorary chairman of the 2020 Rochester Virtual Kidney Walk, and the West Family, will lace up and walk in solidarity and support of the Walk’s mission - to raise money and awareness for members of our community who are amongst the 37 million US adults estimated to have chronic kidney disease (more than 90% are unaware they have it). In 2020 especially, the support and services provided by National Kidney Foundation are crucial. Not only are people with kidney disease at higher risk for developing serious complications from COVID, but COVID patients who have had no history of kidney damage are getting Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) - which could leave them at higher risk for chronic kidney disease and dialysis. Indeed, AKI is occurring in 15% of all hospitalized COVID patients; many ending up on dialysis.
A significant number of patients going into the hospital to be treated for COVID-19 are coming out as kidney patients. - Kevin Longino, CEO of the National Kidney Foundation.
Mike, and the West family, invites you to join us in the fight against, and education of, chronic kidney disease and End Stage Renal Disease.
Lace up and virtually walk with us on September 13. Click below to donate, or join our team!
If you say no thank you this time, that’s ok too. Please just take a moment and say a little prayer, or send positive vibes our way.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support and generosity. We love you. We appreciate you.
- The West Family
